A renowned medical laboratory scientist and embryologist, Brittany C. Pendleton, MS, MLS has excelled working with St. Francis Emory Healthcare and the Columbus Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility since 2020 and 2022, respectively. As a laboratory scientist, she analyzes a variety of patients’ biological specimens while engaging in quality control for their instruments, guaranteeing the most accurate results possible are reported to Physicians. As an embryologist, she focuses her efforts on reproductive services and research in embryo creation and development via in-vitro fertilization. She also ensures the paperwork and standard operating procedures are up to date in preparation for laboratory inspections and ensures the safety and smooth operations of all laboratory aspects.
Prior to her current posts, Ms. Pendleton worked as an emergency medical technician (EMT) for Community Ambulance from 2017 to 2018. At Columbus State University, she offered her skills as an operations and facilities assistant, front desk supervisor and student assistant at the Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center between 2013 and 2017. To remain abreast of her field, Ms. Pendleton maintains membership with the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science. Dedicated to serving her patients with care and precision, she finds great fulfillment in helping her patients throughout the process of their medical journeys.
Ms. Pendleton’s interest in health care began when she was four years old. She had a battery-operated doll and loved watching nursing shows with her mother. When the doll’s battery depleted, she thought her doll died like in the nursing shows, which triggered her love for health care. She would later go on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Columbus State University in 2014 and a Bachelor of Science in clinical laboratory science from Auburn University in 2019. In 2020, she also attained a master’s degree in clinical laboratory science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Looking toward the future, Ms. Pendleton aims to open her own medical facility and treat patients the way she would want to be treated, as her main goal is to always treat patients with respect and dignity.
